Actually this year, Punjab (North India, and Amritsar is the city where Golden Temple is) witnessed heavy reduction in crackers and very high increase in sales of lanterns. From what I have been told, majority of crackers sold this year, has been old stock, very little new stock came to Punjab. Since there has been a steady decline in sales of crackers over last few years. 15yrs ago fireworks would start 4-5pm and continue till 4-5am next day. Now it’s 7-8pm till about 12-1am. I just wish everyone stopped fireworks and went 100% led lights and make it green Diwali.

Clearly photoshopped. I can see at least two mirrored copies of the lanterns and no one’s even looking above at what seems to be a synchronised lighting of the lanterns, which should be a spectacle everyone will want to watch! And no one is in the Sarovar (the pool of water) so how can there be so many lanterns flying right above it. And I’m quite sure the gurudwara won’t allow anyone to light lanterns in the Sarovar anyways because that would be a disrespect to the purpose of the Sarovar.
